what size marquee do I require?
the size of the marquee we would recommend is generally determined by the number of guests at the event. for a general idea please take a look at our page on sizing, whilst bearing in mind that further room is required for dancing, bar and food servery areas. for the best results though, a site visit would be recommended. view marquee sizes
do you do a site survey?
yes, we can arrange a site survey at your convenience, it is free of charge and without obligation.
how much does a marquee cost?
the cost of a marquee is dependent on a number of factors such as size, lining etc. for a better idea please give us a call and we can discuss a sample quotation and/or a site survey.
what is the difference between traditional and frame marquees?
a traditional pole marquee is supported by a number of ropes, poles and stakes. internally a traditional marquee has higher ceilings and tall central poles. the frame marquees are aluminium structures, which have no ropes or poles and a lower ceiling. for a better idea view our gallery.
can both marquees be erected on all surfaces?
no, a traditional marquee can only be erected on grass.
are marquees suitable all year round?
yes, they can be adequately heated throughout the colder months by using industrial blow heaters.
what is a marquee lining and do I require one?
it is an internal liner to the ceiling and walls of the marquee made out of 2oz trevira, which covers the workings of the structure and provides a decorative interior. whether you need one or not depends on the occasion, but it is strongly recommended for events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, etc.
what floor covering can you offer?
we generally provide a cord carpet in our marquees but any other requirements would be taken into consideration.

can you provide furniture, toilets, linen and other ancillary items? yes, we can offer a full package to cater for any occasion. can we accommodate a marquee in our garden? we have a variety of different size marquees to accommodate most gardens, however a site visit is always advisable. can you connect a marquee to a building? our marquees have been used as extensions to houses and restaurants in the past. we can also supply covered walkways to or from buildings. will a marquee damage my lawn? no, there will be some small pins holes left in the grass but they should recover in time. any covered area of grass should grow back in about 2 weeks. what day would you erect the marquee? for a weekend wedding we would generally build on a wednesday or thursday, smaller parties maybe left for friday. however, the date of erection is negotiable. are there any hidden charges? no, all of our quotations are itemised, any possible extras such as insurance are also mentioned in the quotation. what about insurance? we can offer comprehensive cover for all of the equipment we supply to the event at a percentage of the contract value. what is muta and are you a member? mutamarq operates the UK’s only independent inspectorate of marquees to ensure both quality and safety and yes we are a member. how and when do I pay? a 25% non-refundable booking deposit is required before the event in order to secure the availability of the marquee, the rest of the payment is to be paid after the event. |
